It's a busy road in Columbia, SC, just outside the center of downtown where Maxcy Gregg Park, a long community park, stretched along the road in a narrow strip. A storm was coming in when I walked into the park and found the Richard Bloch Cancer Survivors Garden. It's a circular area with benches, memorials and at the center, a peaceful labyrinth. I read that the labyrinth was a project of the local Cultural Council, which seems like a great use of those community resources. One feature of the labyrinth is that it's designed with wide smooth paths and intended to be wheelchair-accessible. A calm place to reflect and walk amid the blustery weather that day.
