Pulling up in front of the small Cornelius United Methodist Church on Memorial Day Weekend, the many American flags planted around the green labyrinth were striking. It was a thoughtful, relevant display. The labyrinth is strips of grass around dark mulch so it is distinctive. What it isn't technically is a true labyrinth. I immediately walked into a dead end and noticed that there is not one connected path to reach the center. No matter, it's a well-groomed space in a pleasant courtyard on a side street in a small suburban neighborhood. Good enough.
