This labyrinth was partly overgrown by weeds and in need of a little TLC, but it has a great location and is special in other ways. It sits in a clearing in the woods behind the main order of a religious order of nuns in southeastern Massachusetts near Fall River. One sister takes the lead in clearing the weeds and keeping it maintained, and when I visited recently, she was still away and not expected back until later in the fall. But I have no doubt that it'll be spruced up and ready for daily walking again. It was fascinating to get a chance to go inside the order's main building and chapel. It had burned down 20 years ago and was rebuilt with local stones from the area and a wood-forward design that accentuates the nature landscape. I had a chance to meet a couple of the order's residents who were lovely and gracious at my interruption to their quiet day.
