My search for labyrinths takes me far and wide. Having never been to the small rural town of Estacada, about an hour from Portland, I saw the Estacada Public Library as an interesting destination. The library sits on a stormwater redevelopment project that has created a small trail, some bridges, and some art on a large tract of public land. And on one side of the library, just outside a community reading room, there's a circular brick labyrinth. It dates back to 2006 and is a compact, tidy pattern. While I walked, many of the readers inside watched me, hopefully either amused or curious by my wanderings.
This also represents my 50th labyrinth I've walked in Oregon. I keep thinking I'll run out but I know of at least a few dozen more so probably not.
