I don't love labyrinths in parking lots, but I understand the competing pressures. At St. John's Episcopal Church in Kirkland, Wash., just north of Seattle, there's a large painted 11-circuit design that competes with disabled parking and a church entrance. On the day I visited it, there was plenty of room for both cars and walkers, and there were several extremely polite volunteers tending the church gardens too. I was able to peacefully walk around it, and then enjoy a homemade chocolate chip cookie from one of the volunteers.
