I haven't found many labyrinths in cemeteries but the ones I do find are memorable. Plus, the juxtaposition of themes at hand (death, commemoration, meditation, peace, reflection, etc.) makes for an interesting setting. At a cemetery I found in eastern Pennsylvania, there was quite a bit of history in the air. Epler's Church Cemetery in Leesport, near Reading, has been serving its community since 1737. It includes remains from more than 1,200 Revolutionary War veterans, and is a somber, well-maintained space. At the back of a long entrance road was the labyrinth. Signs on a nearby highway and on the main road advertised the labyrinth as an attraction so I had to check it out. The large paths over the crushed stone made for easy, accessible walking. It's a large labyrinth with seating nearby, and two cement benches placed in the center. Nearby on the property is Epler's Church of Christ.
