In the city of Portland, Mount Tabor rises in the east as one of the most distinctive parts of the city. It's a volcanic cinder cone that overlooks a wide area. And the windy roads and dense streets make it great for lots of cool neighborhood place. Over the years, I've been to a few community events at TaborSpace, a coffee shop and gathering spot. It's housed at Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church, but I was unaware that I should have headed behind the church to the large grass lawn. Well, I did recently, and was rewarded with a wonderful, wide grass-lined labyrinth pattern. I had to myself and walked it peacefully, while children in a daycare classroom nearby watched me from their window. In the first photo below, my photographer insisted that a ghost showed up and photo-bombed us. I'm not so sure.
