Having grown up in this community, I'm sure I've passed the Central Congregational Church hundreds, if not thousands, of times over the years. On a return visit there recently, I walked around to the back of the church and followed a walkway that led to a compact, brick labyrinth in the shadow of the church building. There were lights for nighttime walkers and the secluded space made for a quiet respite from a busy street and the college campus nearby.
