The Chartres Essence Labyrinth on the campus of Seattle University was opened in March 2020, just before the pandemic set in and closed down most things. It is located in a garden area behind Loyola Hall, and smartly-placed signs make it easy to find and a short walk from much of the campus. It is intended to be a physical connection to the spirituality embodied by St. Ignatius of Loyola, who urged his followers to go forth into the world and take action. The labyrinth's construction was made possible by a gift from a Theology School student, which feels appropriate.
