OK, this one was an interesting experience. It is a wellness center operated by a large health care system and is on the west shore of Oahu, about an hour north of Honolulu, Hawaii. From what I could tell, it is a fairly active property, sprawled over several acres, with residential units, farming and a center, among other aspects. There were various people milling around and it was not entirely clear who were staff, patients, visitors or local residents. I had to explore a bit to find the labyrinth but a helpful staffer pointed it out to me in a field remotely set away from the main buildings. There was no obvious route to reach it and as I was about to walk across a large grassy field, I was instructed to just drive out instead. I had to sign a waiver form for to walk it, which noted large holes in the ground. That was absolutely true, as any misstep could have led to some quick problems along the paths. It’s a very large 13-pattern rock circuit, and some of the paths and turns had been moved around or obscured so I did my best to make it a true circuit walk. There are benches around for quiet meditation, but there are many, many dogs on the property so the barking was hard to tune out.
