There are times when I arrive at the location of a labyrinth and it's not readily apparent that I'm in the right place. Often it's because I'm not. Or the pattern has been overgrown or covered up with furniture or paint, or has faded away from lack of attention. But a few times, I'm in the right place and it's exactly as it is. At this sidewalk pattern, especially on a sunny day, it was very hard to even discern the labyrinth. I finally could when I stepped back and squinted but it wasn't easy. And walking it without making a wrong turn? Yikes, that was an interesting exercise. Over the years, maybe the sun has faded out the coloration differences between the bricks. In any case, this is just two blocks from the U.S. Capitol complex and the Supreme Court building, and sits on the sidewalk in front of the Lutheran Church of the Reformation in Washington, DC.
